Little Bee Bakery has started supplying a range of honey-based biscuits to John Lewis.

The range of five iced biscuits, including mini hearts and a horseshoe-shaped biscuit, are being sold across John Lewis stores and online as wedding favours, for prices ranging from £2-£4.50.

The deal for the Hampshire-based bakery follows an earlier contract to supply John Lewis with skeleton-themed Halloween biscuits, last year.

Melissa O’Dwyer, Little Bee’s founder, said of the deal: “I think it’s a bit of a coup, really. I feel very proud.”

The company currently employs four full-time staff and one apprentice, and produces a range of preservative-free biscuits and cakes using natural ingredients and local suppliers.

O’Dwyer said: “I started with a very little stall at a farmers’ market, and by sheer luck got into a few local cafés and, about two or three years ago, I went full-time.”
