Danish cookie manufacturer Jacobsens Bakery is recalling tins of its Disney-brand cookies due to the presence of undeclared milk.
The recall affects 150g tins of Disney Favourites Vol 2 and Vol 3 with chocolate chip cookies, and Disney Frozen tins with chocolate chip cookies. It also affects 300g tins of Disney Mickey Mouse Clubhouse with chocolate chip cookies, stocked by TK Maxx.
The move follows Poundstretcher announcing it was recalling Disney tins made by Jacobsens last month. According to the Food Standards Agency (FSA) website, further tests have prompted Jacobsens to make the wider recall, which includes chains such as Poundland, Nisa Retail and Sam 99p Stores.
In a statement, Lars Kruse, vice-president at Jacobsens, said: “The products have been found to contain milk which is not declared on the label, resulting in this product being a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic or has an intolerance to milk or milk constituents. Consumers who feel unwell after eating this product are advised to seek medical help immediately.”
He added: “Consumers who are allergic or have intolerance to milk are advised to discard this product or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
