Mono Equipment revamps roll-forming unit

Mono Equipment has revamped its Two-Pocket Roll Plant divider and rounder with a new roll forming unit.

The improved machine made its trade show debut at Foodex 2016, and allows bakers to produce a wider range of dough shapes, from flattened burger buns to long finger rolls.

Mono said the roll plant can produce 3,200 consistently-made rolls an hour, in a weight range of 30g to 100g. The machine is fed by a 15kg hopper and can be operated by one man using a colour touch-screen controller.

Roy Kitley, senior marketing manager at Mono, said: “Mono has been producing bread plants for many years and our Fusion model is used by one of the UK’s leading supermarket chains in their in-store bakeries.

“Although the Fusion Bread Plant produces a wide variety of bread products, its minimum weight range is 250g and we were frequently being asked by customers to offer a fully automated, high-output plant which would produce high quality bread rolls with a weight option starting at 30g. As a result of this interest, we developed the Two-Pocket Roll Plant and have recently added the new roll-forming unit to make it even more versatile.”

Last August, Mono Equipment invested £100,000 in a new product innovation centre at its Swansea headquarters.
