Ex-cricketer Phil Tufnell tucks into a tasty treat in the lead-up to National Doughnut Week, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary next month.

Tufnell dropped into the Chalet Bakery, Tadworth, earlier this month to sample some delicious silver-themed doughnut treats. National Doughnut Week, which raises money for The Children’s Trust, will be taking place from 7-14 May 2016.

Every doughnut sold during the week raises money for The Children’s Trust, the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

Phil Tufnell, who is an ambassador of The Children’s Trust, said: “Everyone deserves a treat now and then and it’s a fun way to treat family, friends and work colleagues to a mouth-watering doughnut and, at the same time, raise money for a very special charity.”

Hannah Gambin, manager of The Chalet Bakery, added: “We are delighted to be supporting this annual fundraising week. Special silver-themed doughnuts, as well as other flavoured doughnuts, will be available to buy, with a percentage from sales being donated to The Children’s Trust. We hope that our kind-hearted customers will also get behind this event and perhaps treat themselves.”
