The Duchess of Cornwall posed for a selfie at The Social Bite café in Edinburgh while HRH The Prince of Wales flipped pancakes.

As part of a tour of Scotland, the Duchess asked to visit Social Bite, as she is a patron of Emmaus UK, a charity that tackles homelessness. The Social Bite café feeds, trains and employs members of the local homeless community.

The Duchess spent time hearing from staff who have experienced homelessness.

Bonnie Burton, who served the Duchess, said: “She was really nice - a nice wee woman. Really polite and lovely. She got a loyalty card and she promised she’s coming back.”

On the same day, Prince Charles tried his hand at flipping pancakes at Glasgow College, but his attempt at flipping went awry when he dropped it on the floor.

The Edinburgh shop also hosted actor George Clooney last November, and staff are expected to welcome actor and campaigner Leonardo DiCaprio later this year.
