Pret A Manger is to extend its Veggie Pret pop up shop in London’s Soho for the rest of the summer, following positive feedback from customers.

At the beginning of June, Pret’s chief executive Clive Schlee said sales at the trial site, which offers products including open rye bread sandwiches, had increased by over 70% on last year.

Schlee said: “It’s early days, and we are having a big internal debate about this. The original idea was to close the shop after four weeks, but we are now inclined to keep it open slightly longer to see whether demand is still as strong once the initial hype dies down.

“There are some who would like to convert every fourth Pret into a Veggie Pret, and to explore its success in other markets too.”

The temporary Little Veggie Pop Up on Broadwick Street, Soho was originally going to remain open for the month of June.
