Bakery will be at the heart of a new Lidl of the Future supermarket, due to open in Oban, Scotland, in September.

The supermarket, which will be the first of its kind in Scotland, is being built on Soroba Road, with the retailer relocating from its current premises on Lochavulin Road.

The multi-million pound store will cover a sales area of 1,424m2 and will boast a bakery, eight tills and 120 parking spaces. Lidl is also looking to recruit 10 additional staff in full-time and part-time positions to add to its existing pool of staff at the store.

The new store will add to Lidl’s existing UK portfolio of 630 outlets, which it aims to increase to 1200 in future.
