Darlington-based artisan pudding producer Burtree Puddings will be distributing Christmas puddings to English Heritage shops across the nation after landing a deal with the charity.

The pudding company was asked by English Heritage to supply a number shops with its festive desserts across the country, including Stonehenge, Whitby Abbey and Brodsworth Hall from October.

Burtree Puddings co-owner Lea Darling said: “We’re delighted to be supplying these English Heritage sites, and we hope customers will be pleased with our handmade, quality Christmas puddings.

“One of our aims is to reach out to pudding fans across the nation, as well as grow the online sales for our entire range, so to have our products stocked further afield is a really positive step for us.”

Darling created the recipes for the company’s three Christmas puddings, which includes a gluten-free version, although her husband, Robert Darling, makes them.

The puddings are made daily in batches of up to 300 in the run-up to Christmas and can also be bought online via its website: burtreepuddings.co.uk.

Burtree Puddings has won a total of 31 Great Taste Awards, including the coveted Supreme Champion award and every one of its Sticky Puddings holds at least one Great Taste award.
