Premier Foods has launched new Christmas products through its Mr Kipling and Cadbury’s Cakes brands.

Cadbury Cakes’ new product addition will include Silent Bites, a double-blended brownie with raspberry flavouring, covered in Cadbury milk chocolate.

Mr Kipling will launch white iced Frosty Fancies, and Stollen Slices, which are fruit cake slices with a central layer of marzipan and a dusting of ‘snow’.

The Christmas cake category is worth £103.1m and growing, and it continues to be a huge opportunity for retailers.

Last month Premier announced that David Beever will step down as chairman of the company in 2017.

Karmel Maletta, innovation controller for Cadbury Cakes & Mr Kipling at Premier Foods, said: “We know shoppers are looking for special cakes at Christmas time, and are willing to pay that extra bit more.

“Cadbury and Mr Kipling are already firm family favourites, which is why they’re even more popular at Christmas time, with Cadbury worth £6.7m and Mr Kipling worth £13.4m.”
