Crisp sandwich shop to cater for weddings

Keighley-based crisp sandwich business Mr Crisp has announced that it is going mobile by catering for weddings.

Mark Pearson, who founded Mr Crisp, plans on becoming England’s first crisp sandwich cart and, as well as weddings, he has been booked for several fêtes next year.

He launched his shop last year but was forced to close due to illness. However, now back at full health, Mr Crisp is going on the road.

Pearson told the Metro: “I wanted to carry on this idea, I wanted to carry on the sandwiches because it was something I loved doing. I really enjoyed the experience of the shop and wanted to carry on with the fun, now that I have a full bill of health.”

Prices start at £160 and Pearson predicts they could rise to anything up to £500, depending on location and guest number.

“You can get various types of fresh bread like crusty rolls, fresh bloomers or teacakes with up to 20 flavours of crisps – all served with a sauce of your choice,” he said.

Mark revealed his own favourite crisp sandwich is ‘the beefy Monster Munch with red sauce’.

The wedding business has prompted the baking industry to become creative as earlier this month, Bakeorama created a wedding cake featuring Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn’s face.
