Lancashire baker Holland’s has joined forces with Guinness again to produce a Steak and Guinness Golden Ale Pie.

Holland’s and Guinness have previously collaborated to produce frozen and chilled products including puddings, pies and slices.

The individual Steak & Guinness Golden Ale Pie includes slowly cooked prime steak, sourced from British and Irish farmers, in a rich ale gravy. It is described as featuring the ‘light, hoppy notes of Guinness Golden Ale’ and is baked in Holland’s shortcrust pastry and topped with cracked black pepper.

With an RRP of £1.75, the Steak & Guinness Golden Ale Pie is available in selected Co-op stores now and is due to launch in Tesco later this winter.

Suitable for the oven or microwave, the product can be prepared in under four minutes.

Bill Smith-Coats, sales and marketing director at Holland’s Pies, said: “We’re really excited about this new addition to our Guinness collection.

“Our frozen Guinness range has driven incremental spend within the pie category and we see huge potential given the size of the pie market in chilled.”

Earlier this month Holland’s developed its product range with a new variety of frozen pies: Chicken Balti, Chicken & Vegetable and Steak.
