Gluten- and wheat-free baked goods supplier Welsh Hills Bakery is ramping up its business with Spanish airline Vueling.

The airline recently announced plans to increase its capacity on all its services in and out of Cardiff Airport by 16%.

As a result, Aberdare-based Welsh Hills Bakery will be increasing production of the 52g retail service packs of chocolate brownies it supplies the airline.

The family-run business also exports to the US, Australia and the Middle East, and last month held discussions with a major retailer in Hubei Province in China, with a view to exporting its Lovemore cookies and biscuits to the country in the second quarter of 2017.

Julian Cruttenden, key account manager at Welsh Hills Bakery, said: “It’s a privilege to be working with Vueling and we congratulate them on their success. To be able to have the choice of opting for a gluten- and wheat-free snack while on a flight will make all the difference to some people.”

The Lovemore range includes shortbreads, cookies, pies, tarts and slices.
