Bakery chain Paul UK has expanded its partnership with The Felix Project charity.

The business is donating 50p for each loaf of bread it sells between 12 December and 15 January 2017 to help feed those who struggle to get by.

The Felix Project distributes London’s excess food to feed the homeless, those living in poverty and families that are struggling. Paul UK currently donates unsold products to the charity on a daily basis.

Jean-Michel Orieux, CEO of Paul UK, said he was delighted to expand this partnership by inviting customers to support the Sharing our Daily Bread initiative.

“Our ongoing partnership with The Felix Project ensures fresh food left at the end of each day is put to good use by feeding those who will enjoy it and really need it, he said.

“With this new initiative, we will also donate 50p from every 400g or larger loaf of bread purchased in our shops and online at paul-uk.com until 15 January in the hope of helping even more people benefit from being warm and fed this winter.”

The bakery chain also announced this week that it has opened its doors at its newest and 36th national site, opposite Earls Court underground tube station.

The chain confirmed in October that it was set to open a new outlet, which began trading this week (Monday 12 December). The café is 1,405sq ft and has a total of 48 covers.

The firm is hoping to attract morning commuters with its lunch and breakfast menus.
