The Food and Drink Federation has launched a new membership option for small businesses.

The membership has been launched in response to increased interest in FDF membership among SMEs following the Brexit referendum vote.

The SME membership will cost £500 + VAT a year and offers benefits including access to FDF experts through a dedicated helpline, free insurance and legal advice, access to retail buyers and discounts on FDF events.

Nicki Hunt, membership director at FDF, said SMEs account for a huge proportion of businesses in the food and drink industry.

“We feel it’s important that these companies have affordable access to some of the same expertise as their larger counterparts and can be part of a shared industry voice,” Hunt said.

“These businesses are the backbone to our sector; their success is key to ensure our industry thrives. We look forward to meeting lots of potential new SMEs.”

The membership offer will be unveiled at the International Food and Drink Event (IFE) at the ExCel, London from the 19-22 March 2017.
