Flora Shedden, runner-up in 2015’s The Great British Bake Off (GBBO), has launched a crowdfunding campaign to fund major structural problems to her new artisan bakery.
The baker announced in January 2017 that she would be opening a bakery called Aran in her hometown of Dunkeld, Scotland, but plans to open the shop by spring have stalled due to the building issues.
“We need your help restoring a derelict 200-year-old building and transforming it into an artisan bakery for the local community and beyond,” Shedden said on her Crowdfunder page.
The former GBBO contestant has set a target to raise £8,000 by 2 May 2017, and is just under half way to reaching her goal at £3,905.
The money raised through Crowdfunder will be spent solely on repairing the ceiling, reinstating the original windows and exposing the lovely wee range,” Shedden added.
“Anything raised above and beyond our target will be spent on providing regular and free artisan baking lessons for schools and older members of the community.”
Donations of up to £50 can be made via the Crowdfunder project website.
