Family baking firm Warburtons made the generous gesture yesterday, and said to victims’ families: “Our thoughts are with you all.”

Warburtons, based in Bolton, Greater Manchester, donated £25k to The Sun newspaper’s Together With Manchester appeal, which is raising money for families of the victims of the Arena bomb.

Twenty-two people have died and 59 have been injured in the suicide nail bombing at the end of pop star Ariana Grande’s concert at Manchester Arena on Monday night.

Warburtons said in a statement: “From our family, to all those families affected by the tragedy, our thoughts are with you all.”

Donations “will help to alleviate suffering and ensure that victims and their families do not face short-term financial difficulties”, according to the newspaper.

News UK, publisher of The Sun, has made a corporate donation of £100k to the appeal.

All money raised will go to the We Love Manchester Emergency Fund, which “will provide funds quickly and immediately to the families of victims of the attack”, according to a statement made by the fund.
