Pastry producer Addo Food Group is expanding into the UK foodservice sector.
The firm will be working with distributor Central Foods to build up its customer base and find new opportunities in the catering industry in the coming months.
“This is a growing sector with more outlets than ever before looking for top-quality products to serve and we believe we have a very strong offering,” said Addo Food Group foodservice commercial controller Jon Rose.
“As we are a new player to the channel, our relationship with Central Foods has been invaluable in helping us identify new ways to make our products available.”
He added: “We are looking forward to exploring the opportunities in this area and are already speaking to a number of hospitality businesses about the products we can create for them.”
Central Foods is based at Collingtree near Northampton and supplies more than 220 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers.
Gordon Lauder, managing director of Central Foods, said the company was delighted to have been awarded the contract with Addo.
“Central Foods is well known for the buffet party foods we supply and distribute to foodservice operators across the UK,” Lauder said. “This contract will help us with our continued growth in this area as we look to strengthen the range of both savoury and sweet buffet products we offer.”
