Paterson Arran scoops Gold award for health & safety performance

Biscuit manufacturer Paterson Arran has been recognised for its health & safety performance by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) after receiving a gold award at the 2017 Health and Safety Awards.

The gold award was achieved after the Livingston-based company scored highly in a number of health & safety tests. Paterson’s achieving an audit score of 93% in health & safety compliance, and operating 561 days without an accident, were among the main factors that impressed the judges.

Adam Wilson, quality, safety, health and environment (QSHE) manager at Paterson Arran, said the company had worked hard over the past year to ensure they had high health & safety standards.

“We are very proud as a company to have been recognised by the judges,” said Wilson. “2016 has been a very successful year in terms of health & safety at Paterson Arran. “We have several new initiatives in the pipeline for the coming year and aim to continue to strive to deliver health & safety best practice across the business.”

Running for its 61st year, the RoSPA awards scheme is open to businesses and organisations across the UK and overseas. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors, including transport and logistics, engineering and manufacturing.
