West Cornwall Pasty Co unveils first low-calorie vegetable pasty

West Cornwall Pasty Company has launched a limited-edition Mediterranean Vegetable Pasty across its stores nationwide.

Available now, the pasty is described as “the taste of summer” and is the company’s lightest pasty yet, containing just 350 calories.

The Mediterranean Vegetable Pasty comprises authentic Greek feta and is packed with tomatoes, peppers, courgettes and oregano, finished in a light olive oil pastry.

The company revealed that its new low-calorie pasty has been designed to reflect the freshness and tradition of the Greek Mediterranean diet.

It said that the new addition would boost its mission to “break down the barriers to lifestyle choices, dietary requirements” and “paves the way through innovation to an 'Everybody' eating culture that's easy, hassle free and available”.

West Cornwall Pasty Co was acquired by Ginsters owner Samworth Brothers from private equity investor Endless LLP at the beginning of 2017.

The acquisition included its 33 wholly-owned outlets in UK rail stations and high street locations, a further 19 franchised outlets in Moto service stations and the company’s head office and distribution centre.
