AB Mauri has appointed Hannah Parry as its research and development (R&D) technologist.

Parry, who recently graduated at the University College Birmingham studying bakery and patisserie technology management, will link up with a team of three R&D technologists at AB Mauri’s Centre of Excellence in Corby, Northamptonshire.

AB Mauri said that it has further strengthened its NPD function with the addition of Parry, who has worked within the bakery industry in both the UK and in Europe.

"I feel privileged to have received this role and it makes the last five years of bakery education and preparation all worthwhile," Parry told British Baker. "Working with bakery ingredients makes every day unique. It’s a very interesting and scientific part of the industry and I’ve always taken a keen interest in current trends, product development and experimental work. All elements that make a great fit to a research and development role with AB Mauri."

Parry joins the business after it recently secured an AA accreditation in its latest British Retail Consortium audit across all three of its manufacturing sites as well as its yeast plant in Hull.

British Baker spoke with Parry in March during a university trip organised by the British Society of Baking to equipment supplier Baker Perkins at its site in Peterborough, which was organised by the British Society of Baking.
