Rise in seeded bread prompts new CSM bread mixes

CSM Bakery Solutions has launched a new range of seeded bread mixes.

The two-strong Arkady branded range comprises Multiseed Gold and Multiseed White 50/50 flour mix, and was created due to demand for creative breads that offer consumers something extra special, according to CSM.

The Arkady Multiseed Gold has a combination of linseed, sunflower seeds, oats and pumpkin seeds that produces premium bread and rolls with a malt flavour and golden colour.

Arkady Multiseed White also comprises sunflower seeds, linseed, pumpkin seeds and oats, but produces lighter-eating bread and rolls.

Miriam Bernhart, category market leader for bread ingredients at CSM Bakery Solutions, said the bread market had shifted over the past decade.

“Consumers are opting for alternative breads with unusual flours, inclusions and flavours,” said Bernhart. “Our new mix will allow bakers to meet this demand and drive sales by offering a premium option with a fantastic flavour, texture and smell.”

According to Kantar Worldpanel, the seeded break market is worth £263m and is growing at 6.3% year-on-year.
