Subway has announced it will trial a home delivery service in London from next year.

The sandwich chain said the decision was based on the success of individual franchisees who had partnered with third-party food delivery companies, offering the service on a store-by-store basis.

“Subway is always looking at new innovative ways to meet our customers’ increasing demands, including home delivery,” said a Subway spokesperson.

Greggs teamed up with UberEats in October to trial a home delivery service in Newcastle, which was later rolled out into London.

Subway said further details of the trial would be announced “very soon”.
