Costa Coffee has launched a cinnamon brioche bun and raspberry & blackcurrant ripple cake as part of its summer menu.

The first cinnamon brioche bakery item to be sold by the brand, the bun is topped with a fondant icing and shredded orange zest, and is priced £2.10 for eat-in or takeaway.

The raspberry & blackcurrant ripple cake comprises three layers of Victoria sponge sandwiched together with a vanilla frosting and a raspberry & blackcurrant compote. It has an eat-in price of £2.95, or £2.55 takeaway.

Costa has also reintroduced its lemon drizzle loaf cake due to popular demand. It is being sold for £2.75 eat-in or £2.65 takeaway.

“Our customers are at the heart of everything we do, so our range is always developed with them in mind,” a spokeswoman said.

“We listen to their feedback and work closely with our suppliers and consumer insights team to help develop our concepts – ensuring we’re creating excitement by bringing them new trends, but also listening to what they love and making sure we have the perfect sweet treats on offer.

“The lemon drizzle loaf cake is one of our favourites – a true classic, which our customers tell us they love. We’ve updated the recipe to make it even more lemony and have topped it with a tangy and crunchy lemon drizzle glaze to give it that summer twist.”
