Sussex baker Turner’s Pies has expanded its business by opening a new shop in Worthing.

The latest addition brings the total number of stores to four, with existing premises in Chichester, Rustington and Bognor Regis.

Phil Turner, managing director at Turner’s Pies, said the new store would cater to the increasing demand for the business’ offerings. These include an award-winning steak and ale pie that in March was voted Supreme Champion at the British Pie Awards, with judges giving it a score of 99 out of 100.

The Turner family have been producing traditional pies since 1933, when Eva and Reginald Turner started a business catering for a hotel in Bognor Regis. Generations later, Phil Turner said the team were looking forward to being part of the Worthing community.

Turner said: “We’re delighted to open the latest shop here in Broadwater Street West and have been overwhelmed with the warm welcome we’ve had from everyone. We’ve already encountered a lot of positivity.”

The business also runs a ‘Pies by Post’ service for those unable to make it to one of the four stores.
