Walkers has kicked off the new year with a new look across its core range. 

The PepsiCo-owned brand said the distinctive pack design, rolling out from this month, will use a more premium finish and boost visibility on the shelf.

The new packaging will run across all of its core flavours, including Ready Salted, Cheese & Onion, Salt & Vinegar, Prawn Cocktail, Smoky Bacon, Roast Chicken, Marmite, Pickled Onion, Tomato Ketchup, Worcester Sauce and Beef & Onion.

“We’re excited to be unveiling the modern and refreshed packaging across the Walkers core range as we start the new year,” said PepsiCo marketing manager Andy Hawkswell. “It will be easier for consumers to locate on-shelf and drive a stronger emotional connection with the brand.”

Last month, Walkers teamed up with TerraCycle to launch a nationwide recycling scheme for all brands of crisp packet, which encourages consumers to take empty packets to a nearby recycling drop-off point, or have them collected by a courier free of charge. Walkers said the move was a step towards its ambition to make its packaging 100% recyclable, compostable or biodegradable by 2025.
