Warrens Bakery is to shake up its pasty offer with a with a new Marmite flavour this summer.

The cheese and Marmite savoury will go on sale on 19 June across all stores. The NPD, which has already caused a stir on social media, will be available until early September, but Warrens confirmed it could remain into the autumn and beyond, depending on customer demand.

“With over 1,000 comments on our Facebook in just a few days, it seems this is a flavour combination that pasty-lovers have been waiting for,” a Warrens Bakery spokeswoman told British Baker.

“Marmite is an iconic brand in the UK, and teaming up with Warrens Bakery, the oldest Cornish Pasty maker in the world, brings together two of the nation’s favourite food items to create something special for summer. We have been in talks for many months to make this iconic partnership happen, and are thrilled that it has received so much interest before its launch next week.”

The price of the pasty would depend on the region, the craft baker said.

Warrens has been making pasties for 150 years and has 70 stores from Land’s End through to Birmingham and Hampshire.
