Real Good Food (RGF) has promoted Maribeth Keeling to the role of group chief financial officer (CFO).

Keeling is currently finance director of RGF’s Cake Decoration division, which includes Renshaw. She is taking on her new responsibilities, in addition to her current role, with immediate effect.

The company described Keeling as having a decade’s experience of working within a variety of listed and private businesses in senior finance, business improvement, integration and company secretarial roles.

Her appointment follows the departure of Harveen Rai, who left RGF in March after helping turn around the business.

RGF has sold off many of its operations in the past two years after issuing a string of profit warnings and announcing accounting issues that led to the departure of founder Pieter Totté and the replacement of its finance director by Rai.

The company now comprises the Cake Decorating division and Bright Foods Ingredients division.

“We are delighted that Maribeth has agreed to assume the role of group CFO and we look forward to working with her to continue the improvement in performance of Real Good Food,” said RGF chief executive Hugh Cawley.

In May, Real Good Food was fined £450,000 for breaching Alternative Investment Market (AIM) rules in 2017. The company also announced further changes to its board.
