Speciality coffee roaster 200 Degrees has opened its first “out of town” location in the East Midlands.

Situated in the McArthurGlen designer outlet on Junction 28 of the M1, the 80-seater, 1865 sq ft site follows the opening of its Birmingham Lower Temple Street premises this summer and brings the total number in the business’ portfolio to 11.

The shop, which opened this week, creating 16 jobs, features a coffee bar, fireplace snug and a large outdoor seating area, and sells sandwiches, baguettes, salads, soups, cakes and pastries.

Vegan and gluten-free options are available alongside freshly roasted coffee and a seasonal menu of spiced hot drinks and soups.

A festive gift collection has also been produced, including three roast options from 200 Degrees’ full coffee range, enabling customers to make their own mix-and-match gift packs.

“As a prime retail destination in the East Midlands, we are honoured to be serving our freshly roasted coffee blends, food and new festive options to shoppers, alongside our range of high-calibre brewing equipment and gadgets for coffee lovers to recreate the 200 Degrees experience at home,” said Tom Vincent, co-founder and director at 200 Degrees.

“As it’s that special time of year, we will have our highly trained staff on hand for advice and to demonstrate equipment to anyone looking to purchase for themselves or for loved ones in the lead-up to Christmas.”

McArthurGlen’s centre manager Paul Tyler said: “We are passionate about supporting local businesses and are delighted to be able to offer our guests another independent food and beverage offering.”

Vincent established 200 Degrees, which began roasting coffee at Meadow Lane in Nottingham, with business partner Rob Darby in 2012. They opened their first shop in October 2014.

McArthurGlen is the fourth site to be unveiled by the businessmen this year, behind Lincoln, Liverpool and Birmingham Lower Temple Street. The owners plan to open their 12th site in Manchester later this year.
