Adelie extends Urban Eat with two chicken wraps

The sandwich brand by Adelie Foods has extended its Core range with two chicken wraps.

The Sriracha Chicken Wrap comprises chicken breast with spicy sriracha mayo, carrot and ginger slaw and spinach in a spinach wrap. At under 400 calories, it will be part of the Light Choice range.

Its Katsu Chicken Wrap contains southern fried chicken goujons with sweetcorn katsu slaw and spinach in a bar-marked tortilla.

The two new wraps will be available nationwide from 27 January and have joined the portfolio due to customer demand, said the company. More than 40% of shoppers bought tortilla products on a weekly basis, according to FIM Tortilla Market Report.

The launch also includes the Hoisin Mushroom Salad as part of the brand’s Street range, with the aim of appealing to shoppers looking for world flavours in a cold option.

“As the UK’s number one sandwich brand, we know what sells. Our latest products tap into the hottest food trends and will give operators a point of difference,” said Wayne Greensmith, head of category marketing at Adelie Foods.

“Our new flavours take into consideration the latest trend for spicy food as we aim to become the number one food-to-go provider. Spice is everywhere!”
