British Baker has moved the date of National Cupcake Week to the week commencing 14 September, in order to give bakery retailers more time to prepare. The remit for the week has also been expanded to include everyone from craft bakeries to cafés and supermarkets - so make sure you get involved.

The event, to be held from 14-19 September 2009, will be highlighted via special merchandising materials and window stickers, urging customers to come in and treat themselves.

Bakers up and down the country are encouraged to capitalise on the ever-popular cupcake trend by heightening customers’ awareness of the huge number of recipes and exotic toppings available for cupcakes, and tempting them to buy at least one during the week.
