Canada Bread Company, owner of UK bagel supplier Maple Leaf Bakery, will take no further action after an internal investigation into allegations that an employee at its UK bakery operations may have sought to influence the pricing of a competitor.
Senior vice-president, communications and consumer affairs Lynda Kuhn said no evidence to substantiate claims, made in a tabloid newspaper in December 2008 involving The Bagel Group, had been received, despite requests.
The Office of Fair Trading said it will not pursue the case.
