Bakers on the south coast are being invited to a Cupcake Camp to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Margaret Hitchman, who runs Cake Heaven in Bournemouth, is organising the fundraiser at The Lighthouse in Poole on 2 April, which will bring together bakers from Dorset, Hampshire and Sussex to promote their cupcakes to the public.
The event has already been pledged more than 600 cupcakes and aims to get at least 1,000 donated; each cupcake will cost only £1 on the day, with all proceeds going to charity.
Said Hitchman: “Cupcake camps have been run in many countries worldwide and they combine a fun element of raising money for a good cause. We plan on having celebrity judges, live music, cake art, line drawing, fun photography, face painting and cake decorating.”
