Global bakery ingredients supplier Bakels has acquired Swiss firm Nutribake, in a move that looks set to expand British Bakels’ product range.
Nutribake, a trading firm that develops recipes then works with specialist powder blenders to produce bakery mixes, was bought for an undisclosed sum from the Hochdorf Group. It has a turnover in excess of £23m and supplies both industrial and craft bakers.
British Bakels MD, Ade Abass said the buy would enhance its speciality mixes offer for the UK. "It means we can offer authentic Swiss, German and Italian products that already have a proven track record among bakers."
