Supermarket retailer Asda has developed a new transactional mobile phone app, allowing customers to buy groceries online and price check the cost of their shopping using their iPhones.

Customers are now able to download the Asda App onto their iPhone to register to shop, amend an existing order or delivery slot up until 10pm the day before their delivery is due. The app also has an integrated scanner enabling customers to add new products to their basket by scanning the barcode.

Kate Cuthbertson, Asda’s head of mobile strategy, said: “More than 60% of customers who access the Asda.com mobile website do so using iPhones, so we’ve created an app that allows them to shop – and price check – on the move. Our mobile strategy is moving at pace with more new developments planned into the New Year.”
