A branch of high street chain Greggs, in Scotland’s Arbroath, is being terrorised daily by a bird that staff have named Steven Seagull.

The shoplifting seagull, which has a liking for baked treats, has been hanging around the Greggs bakery in Arbroath.

The brazen bird swoops on the bakery up to 10 times a day, according to staff. He has been caught on video walking out of the door with a packet of salt and vinegar crisps (pictured), and once made off with a six-pack of bread rolls.

Staff member Lyndsay Cowan said attempts had been made to stop the bird, but he was always too quick.

Ashleigh Walton, who also works in the shop, said: “Steven has no fear. We have to keep a constant eye out for him. He must be our most loyal regular – he’s here all day, every day.”
