Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats has rolled out three new cookie variants across its Bounty, Galaxy and M&M’s brands.
The three new variants comprise 22.5g eight-pack cookies including Galaxy Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Bounty Soft Baked Cookies with flakes of coconut and chocolate chunks, which are both available now at £1.99. Meanwhile the M&M’s Chocolate Cookies will be launched in mid-September at the same price.
Michelle Frost, general manager at Mars Chocolate Drinks and Treats, said the company believes its brands will really enliven the cookie category.
“Not only does this range benefit from brand recognition and fantastic, eye-catching packaging, but boasts an authentic taste too,” said Frost. “We look forward to seeing the reaction to our cookie range, and to creating excitement and growth in the category.”
Biscuit sales have fallen by £12m according to Kantar Worldpanel figures for the 52 weeks to 26 February 2017. However, everyday treats sales, which includes cookies, are up 1% and hold a 15% value share of the retail biscuits market.
