Samworth Brothers-owned West Cornwall Pasty Company (WCPC) has appointed Tony Keating as its new managing director.

Keating has been a director at WCPC since 2014. He was formerly chief executive of SSP UK and Ireland, which owns, operates and franchises food, beverage and other concessions at airports, and is also a director of Hampshire-based coffee shop group Caracoli.

He was appointed at the time of Samworth Brothers acquisition of WCPC from Enact. Chris Peck, the previous executive chairman, stepped down when the acquisition was successfully concluded, and is a specialist turnaround manager, according to the company.

Also this month, WCPC opened a store at Norwich train station and started offering a delivery option in Brighton, Norwich, St Albans, Winchester and Oxford as part of a new partnership with Deliveroo.

Samworth said last month that WCPC was a good fit for the company and hot food-to-go was an area “of real opportunity”.
