McVitie’s owner Pladis has named Mario Reis as chief supply chain officer.

The news follows the company’s hiring of Pepsico veteran David Murray as MD for the UK and Ireland in September and ex-Unilever stalwart Sridhar Ramamurthy as chief financial officer in July.

Reis, who joins from multinational beauty company Coty, will be responsible for leading the global supply chain agenda across all Pladis’ markets and will serve as a member of the leadership team.

He has more than 30 years of international supply chain, procurement and management consulting experience and has held senior positions with fast-moving consumer goods firms, including Danone and Mars.

“Mario brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Pladis,” said CEO Salman Amin. “His vast experience leading the end-to-end supply chain in large, global businesses means he will be a great asset to our team as we build on our excellence across our markets. We’re absolutely thrilled to have him on board.”

Reis said he was delighted to be joining a company he had “long admired for its portfolio of cherished brands, its strong position in global snacking” and “its presence across so many geographies”.

“I look forward to working with the team and its partners to continue to drive Pladis’ success,” he added.

Formed in 2016, Pladis operates brands including McVitie’s, Ulke, Jacob’s, Go Ahead!, Carr’s, Flipz, BN and Verkade. It has 34 factories in 13 countries.
