Poundstretcher is recalling tins of Disney Choc Chip Cookies due to the presence of undeclared milk.
The recall affects 150g tins with a best-before date of 8 August 2017. The cookies contain milk, but this is not mentioned on the product label, meaning they pose a risk to people with a milk intolerance or allergy.
The cookies are produced by Jacobsens Bakery, a large Danish manufacturer and exporter of biscuit products.
On its website, the Food Standards Agency (FSA) said: “This product contains milk, making it a possible health risk for anyone who is allergic or has an intolerance to milk or milk constituents.
“If you have bought the above product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where you bought it for a full refund.”
According to the FSA, no other Poundstretcher products are known to be affected.
