London social enterprise bakery, Providence Row Bakery, has launched a new bike delivery service for products.

The bakery, which works with people who have experienced homelessness, has invested in a branded cargo bike to deliver products around Brick Lane.

Laura Hopper, social enterprise development manager at the charity, said: “The bakery builds on our award-winning catering training programme, which is supported by chefs from the Andaz Liverpool Street Hotel.

“Our programmes fill a much-needed gap in the provision of training and work experience for rough sleepers, ex-offenders, and those with mental health and substance misuse issues.”

Kash Bygott, owner of Love In A Cup café, which stocks the bakery’s products, said: “The friands and banana bread are baked to perfection.”

More than 30 homeless and ex-homeless people have been involved with developing the business, which bakes and delivers cakes.

All proceeds from the bakery help to fund the charity’s training and employability programmes.
