Baking-mix producer Sweetpea Pantry has secured deals with supermarket chains Marks and Spencer (M&S) and Booths.

M&S will stock the health-focused brand’s Grainy Brainy Pancakes, Playful Pizza Dough and Super Oat Flapjacks nationwide across many of its larger food halls, while Booths will also stock the flapjacks, along with the Ginger Giggles and Chocolate Giggles Biscuits in 22 of its stores.

The boxes have an RRP of £4.99 and are already sold in a wide variety of high-end retailers such as Ocado, Selfridges, Whole Foods and Planet Organic.

Co-founder Philippa Askham said: “We are thrilled to extend our brand through a national distributor with such a distinguished name as Marks and Spencer, which we feel shares much the same ethos as ourselves particular in terms of quality. Food should be enjoyable, delicious and healthy for all the family.”

Sweetpea Pantry was founded by Askham and friend Tanya Mitchell in April 2014 to provide nutritious baking mixes. The products use whole grains and cut down on refined sugar and additives, while the pizza and flapjack mixes are gluten free.

In March 2015, the company won the Best Loved Kids Food Brand award at the Virgin Foodpreneurs Festival.
