Greggs has recalled a batch of its frozen mini sausage rolls over fears they may contain pieces of plastic.
The affected packs of 16 Mini Sausage Rolls (433g), which have a best-before date of 30 November 2019, are a potential choking or food safety risk, according to the company.
They are part of range of Greggs-branded frozen products that are available only through Iceland stores, and the recall does not affect any other products, date codes or batches.
“This product is exclusive to Iceland and therefore is only applicable to product purchased from Iceland stores,” stated Greggs. “This therefore does not affect any of our freshly baked savoury products in our Greggs shops or other Greggs products sold at Iceland.
“We are very sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
Point-of-sale notices will be displayed in all Iceland stores that have been selling the product, explaining to customers why the product is being recalled and telling them what to do if they have bought the product.
A range of Greggs-branded baked goods have been available through Iceland stores since 2011.
