Greggs, the high street bakery, recently passed 100 franchise stores as it opened another partnership with fuel station forecourt manager Euro Garages.
The store at Shinfield, Reading opened on 4 December, selling freshly prepared Greggs products such as sandwiches, savouries and sweet treats as well as hot and cold drinks, including freshly ground coffee. Seating and wi-fi are also available.
The opening brought the total number of partnerships Greggs has with Euro Garages to 51, with the other 49 coming from partnerships with Moto, Wightlink, Blakemore, Applegreen UK and Northern Ireland, Compass and Sandpiper.
Five more Greggs franchises are due to open this year at Tadley, Bicester, Maidenhead, Garston and Leeds. All are with Euro Garages.
Martin Kibler, property director at Greggs, said: “To reach the 100th store milestone is a real achievement for both Greggs and our franchise partners. Our work in the franchise sector is integral to our business as it enables us to extend the Greggs offer to previously inaccessible locations, particularly transport hubs.
“Our partnership with Euro Garages has so far led to the development of Greggs outlets in 51 of its forecourt sites, with a further five scheduled for the remainder of this year. It’s an exciting time for all involved and we will continue to work closely with all partners to explore other opportunities in the future.”
