January is the time of year when most consumers are looking towards healthy products to kick-start their New Year. Bread is a low-fat food, packed with vitamins and minerals, including calcium, iron, folic acid and B vitamins, says Kluman & Balter (Waltham Cross, Herts).

The company says that a basic bread recipe can be transformed into a variety of specialist and healthy options by the addition of ingredients, such as nuts, seeds and spices and that these premium products command premium prices.

The company has added a new multi-seed bread mix, imported from Germany, to its huge range of mixes, giving bakers the opportunity to develop their own signature lines.

Included in the range are specialist items such as ciabatta mix, Bavarian rye mix, pumpkin bread mix and sunflower bread mix.

"We are constantly updating and modifying our product portfolio, which already boasts over 1,000 lines," says Danny Kluman, managing director. "Our dedicated fleet of vehicles takes orders to the customers exactly when and where they want them delivered."
