Are you a retailer planning to drive cupcake sales in your shops during National Cupcake Week, beginning 14 September? Then enter British Baker’s window display competition.

A prize of two tickets to next year’s Baking Industry Awards is on offer to the winning shop with the best cupcake-themed display. All that we ask of you is that you incorporate the National Cupcake Week logo or posters, available to download free from www.bakeryinfo.co.uk (click on the National Cupcake Week link on the homepage).

If you are unable to print off posters, don’t worry, one poster will be sent out free to bakery and café subscribers of British Baker on 28 August.

Remember, the better the quality of your photography, the greater the chance you have of winning. Take care over the composition of the shots, try to avoid window reflections obscuring your display, and make sure you capture the detail as well as the overall theme. If taking digital images, ensure that the camera is on its highest resolution setting.

Deadline is 30 September and winning entries will appear in a future issue of British Baker, so get planning now! Send images to cupcakes@william-reed.co.uk or Elizabeth Ellis, British Baker, Broadfield Park, Crawley, West Sussex RH11 9RT.

l In related news, Marks & Spencer is the latest retailer to pledge support for National Cupcake Week. M&S, which launched its first-ever range of cupcakes in April, will feature point-of-sale in stores throughout the week.
