Swiss-based bakery firm Aryzta has revealed a upturn in revenue in its Food Europe division of 2.8%, to €971.2m (£830.3m), in the nine months to 30 April 2013.
In its third-quarter trading update, announced today (4 June), the also firm posted an 8.2% increase in revenue in its Food North America business and an 8% rise in its Food Rest of the World arm, over the same time period.
For the 13 weeks to 30 April 2013, revenue in its Food Europe business saw a rise of 4.3% to €329.6m (£281.7m).
Owen Killan, chief executive officer, said: “Revenue growth in food was a satisfactory 3.6% in the quarter. However, underlying revenue was impacted by some volume loss following some price increases in Europe, and the discounting of Direct Store Distribution in the US."
“The acquisition of Klemme was completed during the period, which helps out channel diversification and strategic positioning in Europe.”
Klemme, a German-based company, produces frozen bakery goods for wholesalers, hotels and the catering sector, and employs around 1,000 staff.
