Food manufacturer Samworth Brothers saw pre-tax profit rise 25% last year, according to figures filed at Companies House, up from £33.5m in 2013 to £41.8m in 2014 (year ending 27 December).
As reported in Food Manufacture, the group, which owns brands such as Ginsters, Soreen and Bradgate Bakery, also increased capital expenditure from £26.8m to £47.6m.
The report said: “Product innovation and recipe development are fundamental to successfully developing and growing the business and the company invests heavily in its development kitchens, chefs and technical staff to ensure we provide the best fresh and exciting ideas for our customers.”
