Bakers are being invited to attend a pan-industry fact-finding trip to China, organised by David Powell. The trip, from 8 to 15 May, will see a a group of bakers from the UK tour various craft bakers, retailers and specialists, culminating with a visit to the trade show Bakery China 2012.

Attending the study tour so far are a number of high-profile people from the UK baking industry and it follows the successful visit of a number of Chinese bakers late last year. Powell, president of the Alliance for Bakery Students and Trainees, said it was a chance to see first-hand how bakeries in China work.
