Bakery Industry Award winner Amelia Nutting is to star in a BBC3 TV series, which will be broadcast in January.
Nutting, 21, who won Celebration Cake Maker of the Year in 2010, will be one of four bakers to feature in Young Talent of the Year.
Nutting runs bakery Shuga Budz in Wolverhampton with her mum, Debbie. She and the other finalists were whittled down from a shortlist of 100 young bakers, who were then narrowed down to 60, then 20, before the final four were picked.
Young Talent of the Year is now in its third series and has previously unearthed young and talented butchers, fishmongers, plumbers and chefs.
This year it has five new categories: carpenters, farmers, gardeners, tailors and bakers.
Nutting will film the bakery programme final over two days in September, where she and three other young bakers will have to put their skills to the test.
She said: “It’s really good to be through to the top four, but it’s not knowing what’s next that’s the really scary bit. When you enter something like this, you just think you might get somewhere, but I didn’t expect to get through to the final four.”
