A new café selling food for just £1 per item, including pastries and sandwiches, has opened in London.
Caffix café in Fitztrovia sells baguettes, sandwiches, pastries, yoghurts and salad pots, which are all made on site, for £1 each.
The café also offers an ‘artisan’ cake range, which includes products baked with almond and polenta instead of flour.
Owner Joe Kaye said: “We didn’t want to open a Poundland cafe where certain things are marked up to a pound to fit in. We try our very best to offer great-tasting dishes and not skimp on ingredients.
“It’s perfectly possible we make a profit margin, albeit a lower profit margin, but we can still make money.”
